Function profile
As a Buyer at Menzing in Haaksbergen, you are confident and play a crucial role in the international purchasing process. You are responsible for negotiating and managing contracts, selecting and maintaining suppliers and supporting the operational purchasing process in escalations.
You work closely with the management team to make tactical and strategic choices regarding the purchasing network. You have excellent negotiation skills, taking into account risks such as security of supply and quality versus the lowest price. You feel at home in a technical environment, which enables you to analyze the performance of existing suppliers and select new suppliers who meet all technical requirements requested by Menzing. Good negotiation skills are essential in this respect in order to coordinate the best purchase prices and contract conditions with suppliers.
As a Buyer, you are proactive and keep a close eye on market developments. In addition, you determine KPIs, manage the purchasing budget with the purchasing team, identify cost savings and thus ensure the most efficient and effective purchasing process possible.
Responsibilities
- Negotiation; You conduct negotiations to achieve the most optimal price and delivery conditions with suppliers
- Contract management; Setting up, managing and concluding contracts. In addition, you supervise contract management
- Supplier management; Selecting and maintaining relationships with suppliers of critical components. In addition, you perform supplier assessments with regard to quality and delivery reliability
- Strategic advice; Advising management on strategic choices with regard to the purchasing process, with attention to risk management and geographical distribution
- KPIs and process optimization; Drawing up and being responsible for KPIs in the area of purchasing
- Technical analysis; Co-analyzing the performance of existing suppliers and analyzing and selecting new suppliers that meet all applicable technical requirements
- Operational; Optimizing, supporting and improving the purchasing process
- Reporting to the Operational Director
This role is ideal for a Buyer who is ready for the next step in his or her career. You have excellent negotiation skills to successfully negotiate with suppliers and conclude the best purchasing agreements.
We ask

- Completed HBO education
- Relevant work experience with a proven track record as a buyer
- Strong affinity with technology
- Experience with setting up and developing purchasing strategies is a plus
- Good command of Dutch and English
- Experience with ERP systems

Company description
Menzing is an independent company, founded in 1956, with two European subsidiaries. Modulen & Engineering Menzing B.V. designs, develops and supplies serially produced machines and modules. It acts as the designer and integrator of various suitable techniques and components combined in one product.
Menzing wants to provide its customers with a smarter, cheaper and qualitatively better way of developing, producing and maintaining serially produced machines. Sales, engineering, R&D and product development take place in Haaksbergen. Two assembly locations are located in the Czech Republic.

We are looking for an intern or graduate at HBO level who is following a mechanical engineering or mechatronics course. You will receive professional guidance from an experienced engineer.
Function
Within our company we have various projects that we want to start. Come by for a cup of coffee to discuss the options so that we choose a project that suits you best.
You work at the head office in Haaksbergen. You must be able to work well together and implement ideas well.
Requirements
We expect you to follow a technical education at HBO level in the field of Engineering or Mechatronics. You have a practical and technical attitude, a proactive working attitude, a sense of responsibility, are communicative and eager to learn, can work well together and are results and customer-oriented. Some affinity with software packages such as Solid Works or Creo Elements is an advantage.
